Welcome to The "New Whooos" Club. Perhaps you didn't even know you were a member, but I do have certain customers (and friends) who would like to know, immediately, when I am ready to add new owls to my Web site. Just let me know if you don't wish to be a member. No harm will come to you. Smiley.

Now, you can click on the owls to see the larger images, BUT you will have to use your browser's BACK button to return to this page. If you tire of looking here, you can go to my Web site by clicking on the images further down the page.

I have added banners at the top of each section so you will know where to find these particular owls when they end up on my Web site.* Of course, you are under no obligation to buy anything, but you do have first crack at them, and I will put them aside for as long as you wish—up to one year, anyway. I will add these owls to my Web site on December 8th, so take a sneak peek now. There will be a few more added here soon, I hope.

Looking at the photo, this owl appears quite small but, in actuality, it is of good size. As the larger photos show, the stone goes from about .5" to over 4" thick.  This is a beautiful example of dendritic soapstone from Montana.

The owl is 4.5" high, 7.5" wide, and .5" to 4" deep. The .5" high feet don't show well on the oak base but the help make the height of the base 2.5" high. The base is 8" wide and 4.25"deep.

Swirls of manganese and speckles of iron only enhance the beauty of this tiny dendritic soapstone owl. It is smaller than it looks in the photo but I still like its streamlined look. Check out the larger photos.

The owl itself is is about 2.5 " high, 1.25" wide and only .5" deep. It is mounted on a dark-stained oak base 1.5" square and .5" high.

Price: $50.00

Another piece of East Indian soapstone, this owl is carved on three sides. The back is smooth and polished. A base could be added for $20.00 to give it even more stability, although it stands perfectly fine on its own.

It is 5" high and is 3.25" wide, and 1" to 1.25" deep. The back is smooth and polished. The stone has a very slight green tinge to it. ri

Even with all the dendrites, the detail on this owl shows quite well. The back of this bird is smooth and polished.

The owl is slightly less than 2.5" high, 1.75" wide, and over 1.5" deep. It is mounted on an translucent acrylic base, 2" square x 1" high.

NEWSOAPSTONE #28

This is also dendritic soapstone although the manganese caused the mauve coloration, an increasingly rare find. There are also some slightly green areas, as well, with some flecks of iron (the orange color). The owl is only carved on the surfaces shown in the photo....and it is small. The owl is about 3" high, 1.5" wide, and .75" deep and is mounted on a dark-stained cherry base that is 1.5" square and .5" high.

Price: $100.00

Things are looking up for this tiny owl in 2009. I think the same is true for the rest of us, too. The owl is a nice example of Montana dendritic soapstone and it is 2.5" high, 1 " wide, and 1.75 " deep.It is mounted on an dark-stained cherry base which is 1.5" square x .5 " high. The owl is carved all around, as the larger photos show.

If you could see this owl in person, you would think it was trying to imitate Jonathan Livingston Seagull. Its sleek form makes it appear to be in a power dive. This owl is carved from a nice piece of East Indian soapstone, the last of my supply. The owl is only 1" high and 1.75" wide, but it is4.75" long. Check out the larger photos. It could also look nice on a slanted, angular base.
